SILVER

Because of its unique cathartics such as the highest electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and reflectivity of any metal silver is widely used in solar panels, water filtration, high-value tableware, electrical contacts and conductors, specialized mirrors, window coatings, catalysis of chemical reactions, and as a colorant in stained glass.

Silver compounds are used in photographic and X-ray film, and dilute solutions of silver compounds are used as disinfectants and microbicides, added to bandages and wound-dressings, catheters, and other medical equipment.

Silver Nanoparticles, however, are the most recent and potentially most important, silver industry application to date.

Silver Nano Particles Ag-NPs

Silver Nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) are metallic silver particles with a size range between 1 nm – 100 nm. The silver particle size is expressed in nanometers which represents a billionth of a meter. For example, the thickness of a human hair is approximately 80,000 nm.

Due to their unique physical and chemical properties, such as antimicrobial properties, thermal and electrical conductivity, chemical stability and optical behavior. Silver Nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) are increasingly used in numerous technologies and incorporated into a wide array of applications including medical, food, healthcare, cleaning and industrial products.

Nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) are applied through different forms; mainly, they come in either solid powder or silver solution format, which is a solution-based medium containing nanoparticles.

Silver Nano Particles Ag-NPs

There are three main types of silver solution: ionic silver, silver protein and colloidal silver.

Ionic silver is made of silver ions (Ag+) in solution. Silver ion is an atom of silver that is missing one electron which makes it chemically unstable, due to instability they are ineffective and toxic for the usage of human and animals internally.

Silver protein is made of large metallic silver particles (Ag-NPs) suspended in a polymer protein solution, these large silver particles (Ag-NPs) have a low surface area resulting in less effective interactions.

Colloidal Silver is the suspension of ultra-fine (Nano-sized) metallic silver particles (Ag-NPs) as a solution in water. Colloidal Silver is the most desirable form of silver solution unlike ionic silver and silver protein.

Different studies proved that colloidal silver is the most efficient upon other types for human and animal usage internally and externally, also these particles are not metabolized by the body — they are completely excreted within 24 hours. This means that there is no risk of accumulation.

The most important aspects of describing Colloidal Silver are concentration and particle size.

Colloidal Silver concentration, which describes the total metallic silver particles content, is expressed as milligrams of silver per liter of water (mg/L) which is scientifically called Parts Per Million (ppm).

Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles
(Ag-NPs)

Currently, different methods have been used for the synthesis of Ag-NPs by using chemical, physical, photochemical or biological routes.

We are synthesizing silver Nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) through the most green and efficient biological route.

Our procedure is free of any hazardous waste unlike Silver Nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) synthesized through chemical or others routes, which are not environmentally friendly and potentially carry hazardous effects on human health.
